Signs
• Oven will not heat or preheat
• Error code F31 displays on the control panel
• Oven cycles on and off repeatedly
• Unable to set cooking temperature
• Control panel may become unresponsive
• Audible beeping or alarm sounds from the appliance

Possible Causes
• Faulty or damaged RTD temperature sensor inside the oven cavity
• Loose or corroded electrical connections at the sensor terminals
• Damaged wiring harness connecting the sensor to the control board
• Control board malfunction preventing sensor signal recognition
• Burned-out sensor due to power surge or electrical fluctuation
• Food debris, grease, or moisture on sensor contacts
• Defective thermal fuse on the circuit board

Safety Checks You Can Do
• Turn off the circuit breaker supplying the oven for 60 seconds, then turn it back on to reset the appliance
• Verify the oven door is fully closed and the door latch is secure
• Allow the oven to cool completely for at least 30 minutes before attempting to operate again
• Check that the circuit breaker has not tripped; if it has, reset it and observe if the error reoccurs
• Ensure the oven interior is clean and free of food debris, spills, or obstructions around the sensor probe
• Confirm all control panel settings are correct and no buttons are stuck or pressed inadvertently
• Inspect the visible sensor probe (usually located on the oven wall) for obvious damage, corrosion, or contact with food
• If error persists after these checks, contact a certified GE service technician for professional diagnosis and repair
