Signs
• Oven will not heat or start cooking cycles
• Error code F13 displayed on the control panel
• Oven beeping continuously or at intervals
• Unable to set temperature or select cooking modes
• Control panel may be unresponsive or frozen
• Error persists even after attempting to start a new cycle

Possible Causes
• Loose or corroded electrical connections between the temperature sensor and control board
• Faulty RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) temperature sensor
• Damaged or disconnected wiring harness in the oven cavity
• Control board malfunction or failure
• Power supply voltage fluctuations affecting 240V circuit (common in older USA homes with inadequate electrical service)
• Thermal fuse blown due to overheating or electrical surge
• Loose terminal connections at the rear of the oven where power enters
• Corrosion from moisture or food debris interfering with sensor connections
Step 03
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Turn off power at the circuit breaker for 60 seconds, then turn it back on to reset the control board
• Verify the oven's dedicated circuit breaker is in the ON position and has not tripped
• Ensure the oven door is fully closed and the door latch is secure
• Check that the oven interior is clean and free of food debris, foil, or obstructions around the sensor area
• Verify all control panel buttons are functioning and not stuck
• Allow the oven to cool completely for 30 minutes before attempting to power it back on
• Ensure the oven is not plugged into any power strips or extension cords—it must be hardwired to a dedicated 240V circuit
• Check that the circuit breaker serving the oven is properly rated (typically 40-50 amps for USA models) and not shared with other high-load appliances
• Inspect the rear of the oven for any visible loose wires or disconnected terminals (do not attempt to reconnect yourself)
• If error clears after reset but returns immediately upon heating, contact a certified GE service technician
