Step 01
Signs
• Oven will not heat or maintain temperature
• Heating cycles on and off unexpectedly
• Error code F33 displays on the control panel
• Oven may refuse to start a baking or broiling cycle
• Inconsistent cooking results or food cooking unevenly
• Beeping sounds when attempting to use the oven
• Display may show "F33" or "F-33" depending on model
Step 02
Possible Causes
• Faulty oven temperature sensor (RTD or thermistor) unable to send accurate readings
• Loose or corroded electrical connections between sensor and control board
• Damaged wiring harness connecting the temperature sensor to the main control board
• Control board malfunction preventing sensor signal interpretation
• Sensor probe contaminated with food residue or grease buildup
• Failed electronic components on the control board receiving sensor signals
• Power fluctuations affecting sensor calibration (common with 240V circuits in USA homes)
• Thermal fuse failure interrupting sensor circuit
Step 03
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Turn off the oven and unplug it from the wall outlet (or switch off the dedicated circuit breaker for 60 seconds, then restore power) to perform a hard reset
• Check that the circuit breaker supplying the oven has not tripped; reset if necessary
• Ensure the oven door is fully closed and latching properly
• Allow the oven to cool completely before attempting to use it again
• Verify all control panel settings are correct and no buttons are stuck or depressed
• Open the oven door and inspect the interior for any visible obstructions, debris, or food spills that may be interfering with sensors
• Wipe down the visible oven interior with a damp cloth to remove any grease or buildup
• Check that nothing is blocking the heating elements or sensor area
• Attempt to run a self-cleaning cycle if available; this may reset sensor connections
• If the error persists after these steps, contact a GE-authorized service technician as internal component replacement will be required
