Step 01
Signs
• Oven fails to heat or heats inconsistently
• Temperature display shows unusual readings or fluctuates
• Cooktop may function normally while oven is affected
• Error code F13 displays on the control panel
• Range beeps intermittently when attempting to use oven
• Unable to set or maintain desired cooking temperature
• Self-cleaning cycle may not initiate or complete
Step 02
Possible Causes
• Loose or damaged wire connections between control board and temperature sensor
• Faulty oven temperature sensor (RTD or thermistor) malfunction
• Control board failure or software glitch
• Damaged heating element or compromised element-to-board connection
• Power supply voltage fluctuations affecting 240V circuit stability
• Corroded or burnt connector terminals from normal wear
• Tripped 240V circuit breaker limiting power delivery
• Control panel button contact issues causing signal loss
Step 03
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Locate your home's electrical panel and verify the 240V circuit breaker dedicated to the range is in the ON position; if tripped, reset it by switching fully OFF then back ON
• Inspect the oven interior for any food debris, spills, or obstructions that may be blocking the temperature sensor located on the left or right sidewall
• Check that the oven door closes completely and the door latch engages fully with no visible gaps
• Wipe the cooktop surface with a dry cloth to remove any spills that may have entered crevices
• Press all control panel buttons gently to ensure none are stuck or unresponsive
• Allow the range to cool for 15-20 minutes if recently in use
• Perform a complete reset by turning OFF the dedicated 240V circuit breaker for 60 seconds, then turn it back ON and wait 2-3 minutes for the control board to reinitialize
• Attempt to preheat the oven to 350°F and observe if the error clears
• If error persists after these steps, contact a certified GE service technician or call GE Appliances customer support at 1-800-220-6899 for professional diagnosis
