Safety Checks You Can Do
• Check circuit breaker: Verify your refrigerator's dedicated circuit breaker is in the ON position; if tripped, reset it and monitor for recurring issues
• Inspect refrigerator vents: Ensure all interior vents and air passages are clear of food packages, ice buildup, and debris blocking airflow
• Clean condenser coils: Unplug refrigerator and vacuum exterior condenser coils (located at bottom rear) using a soft brush attachment
• Verify door seals: Check that both refrigerator and freezer doors close completely and seal properly with no gaps
• Review control panel settings: Confirm temperature settings are appropriate (37-40°F for fridge, 0°F for freezer) and not accidentally set to warmest setting
• Allow stabilization time: After power outages or moving the refrigerator, wait 4-6 hours for internal temperature to stabilize before assuming error is permanent
• Perform hard reset: Unplug the refrigerator or switch off the dedicated circuit breaker for exactly 60 seconds, then restore power; this resets the control board and clears temporary error codes
• Check interior cleanliness: Remove any frost or ice blocking vents inside freezer compartment using plastic scraper
• Ensure proper ventilation: Verify refrigerator has 2-3 inches of clearance on sides and back for adequate air circulation
