• Defrost heater element burned out or malfunctioning

• Wiring harness disconnected or damaged in the defrost system
• Control board defect affecting defrost cycle timing
• Ice blockage in the defrost system preventing proper operation
• 120V power supply fluctuation affecting defrost cycle initiation
Step 03
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Verify your home circuit breaker is in the ON position and hasn't tripped; reset if necessary
• Ensure the refrigerator door and freezer door close completely with proper seal
• Check that the refrigerator is not in Demo or Showroom mode on the control panel
• Clear any obstructions blocking air vents inside the fresh food and freezer sections
• Inspect the defrost drain opening (usually at the back or bottom) for visible ice or debris blockage
• Vacuum around the back of the refrigerator to ensure condenser coils are not dust-clogged
• Verify all control panel settings are appropriate for your usage (not set to minimum cooling)
• Allow the refrigerator 4-6 hours to stabilize if power was recently lost or interrupted
• Perform a hard reset: turn off the circuit breaker for 60 seconds, then turn back on and wait 10 minutes for the control board to reinitialize
• Check if the error clears after a complete power cycle
• Ensure the refrigerator has proper clearance (at least 1 inch on sides, top, and back) for adequate airflow
