Possible Causes
• Faulty temperature sensor in the refrigerator or freezer compartment
• Defective control board unable to receive sensor signals
• Loose or damaged wiring between sensors and main control board
• Failed defrost timer causing temperature regulation issues
• Power fluctuations or electrical surges affecting 120V circuit
• Malfunctioning electronic thermostat or temperature probe
• Control panel display circuit failure
• Blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker on dedicated 120V outlet
• Door switch failure preventing proper temperature cycling

Safety Checks You Can Do
• Verify the refrigerator's dedicated circuit breaker is in the ON position; if tripped, switch it OFF and back ON
• Unplug the refrigerator for 60 seconds, then plug it back in to reset the control board and clear temporary errors
• Ensure the refrigerator and freezer doors are closing completely and latching properly
• Check that all air vents inside the refrigerator and freezer are clear of obstructions, ice buildup, or stored items
• Clean the condenser coils located at the bottom or back of the unit using a soft brush (consult your manual for location)
• Verify the refrigerator is not in Demo or Service mode by checking the control panel settings
• Allow 4-6 hours after power restoration for the refrigerator to stabilize to proper operating temperatures
• Check that the refrigerator is not positioned against walls or in tight spaces that restrict airflow around the unit
• Inspect the power cord for any visible damage, cuts, or exposed wires
• If error persists after these checks, contact a GE-certified technician as internal component replacement may be required
