Safety Checks You Can Do
• Check your home's circuit breaker panel to ensure the refrigerator's dedicated breaker is in the ON position and has not tripped
• Verify the refrigerator is properly plugged into a working 120V outlet by testing the outlet with another appliance
• Ensure the refrigerator doors are closing completely and the door seals are not cracked or damaged
• Clean the refrigerator's condenser coils and vents on the back or bottom exterior of the unit using a vacuum with brush attachment
• Verify there is adequate clearance around the refrigerator (minimum 1 inch on sides, 1 inch on top, 4 inches in back) for proper air circulation
• Check that internal vents between fresh food and freezer sections are not blocked by food items or packaging
• Review the control panel temperature settings to ensure they are set to manufacturer-recommended levels (typically 37°F for fresh food, 0°F for freezer)
• Perform a hard reset by switching off the refrigerator's circuit breaker for 60 seconds, then switching it back ON to allow the control board to reinitialize
• Wait 24 hours after power restoration to allow the refrigerator to stabilize and re-calibrate temperature sensors before determining if the error persists
• Ensure the refrigerator is not in defrost cycle mode, which may temporarily reduce cooling output
• Verify fresh food and freezer compartment doors are sealing properly by checking that they close with appropriate resistance and do not open when slightly pulled
