• Failed sensor connection at the evaporator coil in freezer section
• Water damage or corrosion on sensor terminals
• Software glitch in the refrigerator's control panel requiring reset
Step 03
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Check your home's circuit breaker panel to ensure the refrigerator breaker is fully engaged and not tripped; if tripped, switch it off and back on
• Unplug the refrigerator or turn off the breaker, wait 60 seconds to allow the system to reset, then restore power to clear temporary error codes
• Verify both the refrigerator and freezer doors are closing completely and the magnetic seals are not damaged or obstructed
• Inspect the freezer vents and air damper for ice blockages or frost buildup; if present, allow the refrigerator to defrost in cooling mode or gently clear visible ice
• Clean the freezer compartment interior and remove any items blocking air vents that may interfere with proper cooling and sensor operation
• Check that refrigerator control panel settings are correct and temperature selections have not been accidentally changed to extreme settings
• Ensure adequate clearance around the refrigerator exterior; verify the back coils and bottom vents are not blocked by walls, cabinets, or dust buildup
• Allow the refrigerator to stabilize for 4-6 hours after plugging it in, especially if recently moved or after a power outage
• Check for any visible water pooling inside the freezer compartment that may indicate a drainage issue affecting the sensor area
