Step 01
Signs
• Dishwasher fails to start or stops mid-cycle
• No water visible inside the dishwasher tub during operation
• Cycle pauses or gets stuck on the fill phase
• Error code H2O displays on the control panel
• Dishwasher may emit beeping sounds when error occurs
• Dishes remain dry or only partially cleaned
• Water inlet fills but then immediately drains
Step 02
Possible Causes
• Water supply line is kinked, pinched, or disconnected
• Inlet water valve is stuck closed or has failed
• Water inlet valve solenoid has malfunctioned
• Clogged water inlet filter or screen
• Faulty water level sensor or float switch
• Defective door latch switch preventing water from filling
• Damaged or worn door gasket preventing proper door seal
• Control board or electronic module failure
• Low or interrupted water pressure at home supply
• 120V power supply fluctuations affecting water valve operation
Step 03
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Check your home's circuit breaker to ensure the dishwasher circuit has not tripped; reset if necessary
• Verify the dishwasher door is completely closed and properly latched, with no obstructions preventing full closure
• Inspect the water supply line behind the dishwasher for kinks, bends, or visible damage
• Confirm water shut-off valve under the sink is fully opened (turn counterclockwise)
• Remove any dishes or debris from inside the dishwasher that may block spray arms or water flow
• Check that spray arms rotate freely without obstruction and rinse holes are not clogged
• Open the dishwasher door and visually inspect the tub for standing water, food particles, or foreign objects
• Review the control panel settings to ensure the correct wash cycle has been selected
• Allow the dishwasher to sit idle for 30 minutes after the error appears, as power fluctuations may temporarily trigger false readings
• Perform a full reset by turning off the circuit breaker for the dishwasher for at least 60 seconds, then switch it back on
• Run a short test cycle without dishes to determine if water fills normally on subsequent attempts
