Safety Checks You Can Do
• Turn off the circuit breaker to your dishwasher for 60 seconds, then turn it back on to reset the appliance
• Verify the water shut-off valve under the sink is fully open (turn counterclockwise)
• Check that the inlet hose is not kinked, pinched, or bent sharply
• Inspect the inlet hose for any visible cracks, splits, or damage
• Ensure your home's water pressure is adequate (typical range: 20-120 PSI)
• Remove and rinse the inlet screen filter with clean water if accessible without disassembly
• Verify the dishwasher door is closing completely and latching properly
• Check that the spray arms move freely and are not clogged with food debris
• Run a test cycle with an empty dishwasher to observe if water enters
• Confirm your circuit breaker is in the ON position and has not tripped
• Allow the dishwasher to sit for several hours if recently installed or if weather is extremely cold
• Review your dishwasher's control panel settings to ensure a wash cycle is properly selected
