Step 01
Signs
• Oven will not heat or maintains incorrect temperature
• Cooking times are inconsistent or food cooks unevenly
• Error code F10 displays on the control panel
• Oven may shut off mid-cycle
• Unable to set or maintain desired cooking temperature
• Preheat function may fail or take unusually long
• All cooking functions may be disabled until error is resolved
Step 02
Possible Causes
• Temperature sensor (RTD probe) has failed or is defective
• Loose or corroded wire connections between sensor and control board
• Damaged or deteriorated sensor wiring harness
• Control board failure preventing proper sensor signal reading
• 240V/120V power supply fluctuation affecting sensor circuit
• Thermal fuse blown due to power surge
• Sensor positioned incorrectly in oven cavity after cleaning
• Buildup of food debris or grease interfering with sensor function
• Manufacturing defect in sensor assembly (common in certain USA model batches)
Step 03
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Turn off the circuit breaker supplying power to the oven for 60 seconds, then turn it back on to reset the appliance
• Verify the circuit breaker has not tripped; check your electrical panel and reset if necessary
• Ensure the oven door is fully closed and latches securely
• Open the oven and visually inspect the interior for any visible food debris, grease buildup, or obstructions near the sensor probe
• If accessible, gently wipe the temperature sensor probe with a dry, soft cloth (do not use water or cleaning solutions)
• Check all visible wiring connections at the control panel area for looseness or corrosion
• Allow the oven to cool completely for at least 30 minutes, then attempt to use it again
• Clear all cooking settings and error messages by turning off power, waiting 60 seconds, and restarting
• Verify you are using the correct cooking mode and temperature settings in the control panel menu
• If error persists after these steps, contact GE customer service or a qualified USA-based appliance repair technician for professional diagnosis and sensor replacement
