Step 01
Signs
• Clothes remain wet or damp after completing a full drying cycle
• Dryer runs but produces little to no heat
• Error code E3 displays on the control panel
• Drying cycle may stop prematurely
• You may notice a burning smell or hear unusual sounds
• The drum rotates normally but clothes stay cold to the touch
• Previously dried loads now take multiple cycles to dry
Step 02
Possible Causes
• Clogged lint filter preventing proper airflow and heat circulation
• Obstructed dryer vent duct or exhaust vent (common in USA homes with long vent runs)
• Failed heating element unable to generate sufficient heat at 240V (or 120V on compact models)
• Blown thermal fuse protecting the heating circuit
• Malfunctioning thermostat unable to regulate temperature properly
• Faulty igniter in gas dryer models (if applicable)
• Poor electrical connection or voltage issues with 240V supply
• Damaged or restricted airflow sensor
• Control board malfunction preventing proper heating sequence
Step 03
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Turn off the dryer and unplug it from the electrical outlet for safety
• Check that the dryer is receiving proper power by verifying the circuit breaker in your home's electrical panel is in the ON position; if tripped, switch it OFF then back ON
• Inspect and clean the lint filter thoroughly before each load to ensure proper airflow
• Check the exterior dryer vent hood for blockages, lint buildup, or obstructions that restrict exhaust airflow
• Verify the dryer door closes completely and latches properly with an audible click
• Review your dryer's current settings to ensure you selected the appropriate heat level and cycle for your load type
• Allow the dryer to cool for 30 minutes, then plug it back in and attempt a short test cycle on low heat
• Perform a complete reset by turning off the circuit breaker to your dryer for 60 seconds, then switching it back on to clear temporary error codes
• Inspect the incoming power cord and wall outlet for any visible damage or loose connections
• Check that lint or debris has not accumulated around the dryer exhaust area or interior vent opening
