Step 01
Signs
• Oven will not heat or maintain temperature
• Error code F6 displays on the control panel
• Oven beeps repeatedly when attempting to use bake or broil functions
• Range may not respond to temperature setting adjustments
• Digital display shows the error code instead of temperature readings
• Cooktop may still function normally while oven is disabled
Step 02
Possible Causes
• Faulty oven temperature sensor (RTD probe) that has failed or become loose
• Damaged or corroded sensor wiring connections inside the oven cavity
• Broken sensor connector or deteriorated connector pins
• Control board malfunction preventing proper sensor signal reading
• Loose terminal connections at the sensor or control board due to thermal cycling
• Sensor circuit continuity failure from age or manufacturing defect
• Improper oven door closure causing sensor misalignment in USA 240V models
Step 03
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Turn off the circuit breaker supplying power to the range for 60 seconds, then turn it back on to reset the appliance
• Verify the oven door is closing completely and the latch is fully engaged
• Check that the circuit breaker for the range in your electrical panel is fully on and not tripped
• Allow the oven to cool completely for at least 30 minutes before attempting to use it again
• Inspect the inside of the oven for any visible food debris, spills, or obstructions around the sensor area
• Wipe the oven interior clean with a damp cloth to remove any buildup that might affect sensor function
• Review your range's control panel settings to ensure no special modes or lock features are enabled
• Attempt to clear the error by pressing the clear or cancel button on the control panel
• Do not attempt to remove or adjust the temperature sensor yourself, as this requires professional service
