• Failed capacitors or electronic components on the control board
• Incompatible or outdated control board firmware
• Damaged connector pins or corroded electrical connections

Safety Checks You Can Do
• Verify the circuit breaker serving your refrigerator has not tripped; check your home's electrical panel and reset if necessary
• Ensure the refrigerator is properly plugged into a functioning 120V outlet by testing the outlet with another appliance
• Check that all doors (refrigerator and freezer) are closing completely and latching properly
• Inspect the refrigerator interior and condenser coils for dust, debris, or obstructions and clean gently with a soft brush if needed
• Verify that air vents inside the refrigerator are not blocked by food items or containers
• Confirm all control panel settings are configured correctly for your desired temperature and ice maker preferences
• Allow the refrigerator 24 hours to stabilize after any recent power outages or electrical fluctuations
• Perform a hard reset by turning off the circuit breaker serving the refrigerator for 60 seconds, then turning it back on to allow the system to reinitialize
• Inspect visible wiring and connectors at the back of the refrigerator for any signs of looseness, damage, or corrosion (do not open sealed components)
• If the error persists after these checks, contact a certified GE service technician as internal component replacement may be required
