Safety Checks You Can Do
• Verify the refrigerator is properly plugged into a grounded 120V outlet
• Check your home's circuit breaker panel and reset any tripped breakers serving the refrigerator
• Ensure the refrigerator is not plugged into an extension cord or power strip, as this can cause communication errors
• Inspect the refrigerator's vents on the sides and back to ensure they are clean and unobstructed by dust or debris
• Verify that food items inside are not blocking air vents or preventing proper air circulation
• Confirm both the refrigerator and freezer doors close completely and latch securely
• Check that the door seals are clean and not damaged, preventing proper door closure
• Review the control panel settings to ensure nothing has been accidentally changed or locked
• Wait 24 hours after a power outage or electrical disruption to allow the system to stabilize
• Perform a hard reset by turning off the breaker serving the refrigerator for 60 seconds, then restoring power
• Allow 10 minutes after the reset for the control system to reinitialize before checking for error code recurrence
• Verify the refrigerator is on a dedicated circuit and not sharing power with high-demand appliances
• If the error persists after these steps, discontinue use and contact a GE-certified service technician
