• Error code persists even after closing and reopening the refrigerator door
• Control panel buttons may respond slowly or intermittently

• Loose or damaged wiring connection between the main control board and display panel
• Faulty main control board or electronic control board
• Defective display panel or user control interface
• Power surge or electrical fluctuation affecting 120V supply
• Failed communication relay or circuit component on the control board
• Moisture or condensation affecting electronic connections
• Manufacturing defect in control board circuitry
• Incomplete power cycle or control board not properly initialized after installation

Safety Checks You Can Do
• Verify your home circuit breaker is functioning properly and the refrigerator is receiving adequate 120V power
• Ensure the refrigerator is plugged securely into a grounded outlet and the outlet is working by testing with another appliance
• Check that all refrigerator vents on the back, bottom, and sides are clear of dust, debris, and obstructions
• Clean the condenser coils and fan area using a soft brush or vacuum to remove accumulated dust
• Confirm both the fresh food and freezer compartment doors are closing completely and sealing properly
• Review the control panel settings to ensure nothing was accidentally changed that might trigger an error state
• Allow the refrigerator to stabilize for 30 minutes after any power interruptions or electrical storms
• Perform a complete reset by turning off the circuit breaker for exactly 60 seconds, then turn it back on and wait 5 minutes for the control board to fully reinitialize
• If the error persists after reset, unplug the refrigerator for 5 minutes, then plug it back in and observe if the error clears
• Contact a certified GE service technician if the E0 error code continues after troubleshooting, as internal component replacement may be required
