• Defrost cycle malfunction causing ice buildup around sensors

Safety Checks You Can Do
• Check your home's circuit breaker for the refrigerator circuit and ensure it is fully engaged in the ON position
• Unplug the refrigerator or turn off the dedicated circuit breaker for 60 seconds, then restore power to reset the control board
• Verify that the refrigerator doors are closing completely and the door seals are not damaged or obstructed
• Check that the refrigerator is not located in an area with extreme temperatures (below 50°F or in direct sunlight) as this affects sensor readings
• Ensure all air vents inside the refrigerator compartment are clear of food items and not blocked
• Confirm the freezer vents are not obstructed by ice or frozen items blocking airflow
• Clean the exterior vents and condenser coils (located at the bottom or back of the unit) to ensure proper ventilation
• Review your control panel settings to ensure the temperature controls are set to appropriate levels (37-40°F for fresh food, 0°F for freezer)
• Allow the refrigerator 24 hours to stabilize after power interruptions or during initial installation
• Verify no moisture is visibly present around the temperature sensor areas inside the compartments
• Check that the refrigerator is level and not tilted, as this can affect proper drainage and sensor function
