Safety Checks You Can Do
• Verify the circuit breaker or outlet supplying power to the refrigerator is functioning properly by testing with another appliance
• Ensure the refrigerator is plugged into a properly grounded 120V outlet and not an extension cord
• Check that the refrigerator interior is clean and all vents inside the unit are not blocked by food items or frost buildup
• Verify that both the refrigerator and freezer doors are closing completely and sealing properly
• Review all control panel settings to confirm they have not been accidentally changed to incorrect temperature or mode settings
• Allow the refrigerator 24 hours to stabilize after any recent power outages or electrical fluctuations
• Perform a power reset by switching off the circuit breaker to the refrigerator for 60 seconds, then switch it back on
• Check for any visible water pooling or leaks inside the refrigerator cabinet that could indicate moisture damage
• Inspect the power cord for any visible damage, cuts, or exposed wiring
• Ensure the refrigerator has adequate clearance around vents for proper airflow and heat dissipation
