Safety Checks You Can Do
• Verify your home circuit breaker hasn't tripped; check the breaker controlling the refrigerator outlet and reset if necessary
• Ensure the refrigerator is plugged firmly into a working 120V outlet; test the outlet with another appliance to confirm power availability
• Check that both freezer and refrigerator vents inside the unit are completely clear of food items, ice, or debris obstructing airflow
• Inspect the freezer compartment for excessive ice buildup and manually remove any frost or ice blocking the sensor area
• Verify that both the refrigerator and freezer doors are closing completely and the seals are not damaged or allowing warm air inside
• Review your refrigerator control panel settings to ensure temperature is not set to the warmest setting; adjust to recommended freezer temperature (0°F)
• Confirm the refrigerator has been running for at least 4-8 hours to allow proper stabilization after initial installation or power loss
• Perform a complete reset: turn off the refrigerator at the circuit breaker, wait 60 seconds, then restore power to allow the control board to reinitialize
• Avoid opening doors frequently immediately after reset, as this can interfere with the stabilization process
• Contact a GE-authorized technician if error code persists after these checks, as the temperature sensor or control board likely requires professional replacement
