Step 01
Signs
• Freezer not cooling properly or running warmer than normal
• Food items thawing or developing frost buildup
• Error code E1 displayed on the digital control panel
• Freezer cycles on and off frequently
• Compressor running continuously without normal cycling
• Reduced cooling performance despite settings appearing correct
• Ice accumulation in unusual patterns inside freezer
Step 02
Possible Causes
• Faulty temperature sensor or thermistor in the evaporator coil
• Evaporator fan motor malfunction or failure
• Frozen or blocked evaporator coils restricting airflow
• Loose or disconnected wiring harness to temperature sensor
• Control board malfunction or sensor communication failure
• Ice blockage in defrost drain line affecting sensor reading
• Voltage fluctuation or power delivery issue affecting sensor electronics
• Failed damper control that regulates airflow to freezer compartment
Step 03
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Check your home's circuit breaker panel to ensure the freezer circuit breaker is fully engaged and not tripped
• Verify the freezer door closes completely and the magnetic seals are clean and undamaged
• Remove any items blocking the interior vents and ensure air circulation paths are clear inside the freezer
• Review the temperature control settings on the display panel and confirm they are set appropriately for freezer operation
• Unplug the freezer or turn off the circuit breaker for 60 seconds, then restore power to attempt an appliance reset
• Allow the freezer 4-6 hours of continuous operation after reset to stabilize before evaluating temperature performance
• Check that the freezer is not in a defrost cycle by waiting several hours and observing if error clears
• Inspect the back of the freezer exterior to ensure condenser coils are free of dust and debris
• Verify no power surges or electrical issues have occurred in your home recently
