Safety Checks You Can Do
• Check that the freezer is plugged in and the outlet is functioning properly
• Verify your home's circuit breaker hasn't tripped; reset if necessary
• Ensure the freezer door closes completely and the seal is not damaged or dirty
• Check that temperature control settings are set correctly for freezing
• Remove any items blocking the interior air vents
• Clean the exterior condenser coils at the base or back of the freezer
• Inspect the defrost drain opening at the bottom interior for ice or debris blockage
• Allow the freezer to defrost completely if frost buildup is visible, then clean interior thoroughly
• Ensure the freezer is not in a location with extreme temperature fluctuations
• Power off the freezer by switching off the circuit breaker for 60 seconds, then power back on to reset the system
• Verify the freezer has adequate space around it for proper air circulation (at least 2 inches on all sides)
• Check that the power cord shows no visible damage or fraying
