Possible Causes
• Defective temperature sensor (thermistor) in the freezer compartment
• Loose or corroded wiring connection between sensor and main control board
• Control board malfunction preventing sensor signal interpretation
• Damaged sensor wiring from frost accumulation or mechanical damage
• 120V power supply fluctuations affecting sensor circuit
• Failed component on the main control board related to temperature monitoring
• Faulty wire harness connecting freezer compartment to control unit
• Sensor positioned incorrectly or blocked by ice buildup
Step 03
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Verify the circuit breaker serving the freezer is in the ON position and has not tripped
• Unplug the freezer from the electrical outlet, wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in to reset the control board
• Turn off the freezer at the main breaker switch for 60 seconds, then turn back on to perform a hard reset
• Check that the freezer door closes completely with no gaps and seals properly
• Inspect the freezer interior vents and air circulation pathways for frost, ice, or food blockages and clear any obstructions
• Verify the freezer temperature setting on the control panel is set to the desired level (typically 0°F or -18°C for USA models)
• Ensure the freezer has adequate clearance on all sides (minimum 2-3 inches) for proper ventilation
• Allow the freezer 24 hours to stabilize after power loss or electrical disruptions
• Check that nothing is blocking the sensor area inside the freezer compartment
• Ensure the freezer is on a dedicated 120V circuit and not sharing power with other high-draw appliances
