Signs

• Defective lid switch sensor on top-load models
• Water or debris affecting door seal gasket

Safety Checks You Can Do
• Check your home's circuit breaker to ensure the breaker for your washer has not tripped; reset if necessary
• Inspect the washer door or lid visually for any visible damage, cracks, or misalignment
• Ensure the door or lid closes fully and latches with an audible click
• Remove any visible obstructions, lint, or debris around the door frame or lid opening
• Check that clothing or items are not caught between the door/lid and the washer body
• Verify the washer is not overloaded, as excessive clothing can prevent proper door closure
• Close the door or lid firmly several times to ensure proper seating
• Review your washer's control panel settings and cancel any active cycles
• Unplug the washer from the electrical outlet and wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in to perform a full system reset
• Alternatively, turn off the circuit breaker serving your washer for 60 seconds and turn it back on
• Run a test cycle without clothes to determine if the error persists
• If you recently had a power outage or electrical surge, allow the washer to remain powered for a few minutes before attempting operation
