Safety Checks You Can Do
• Verify the home circuit breaker serving the washer has not tripped; if tripped, reset it and attempt a new cycle
• Ensure the washer door or lid is fully closed and latching properly with an audible click
• Power down the washer by switching off the dedicated circuit breaker for 60 seconds, then switch back on to reset the control board
• Check that the washing drum is not overloaded with laundry, as this can prevent proper door locking
• Verify the washer drain hose is not kinked or clogged, allowing water to drain freely
• Review the control panel settings to confirm the cycle selection is appropriate and no conflicting buttons are pressed
• Unplug the washer for 5 minutes if it has a power cord plug, then reconnect to clear temporary control board errors
• Inspect the area around the door lock for visible debris, lint, or obstructions and gently clean if accessible
• Allow 24 hours for any residual electrical charge to dissipate after a power outage before running the washer again
