Safety Checks You Can Do
• Check the circuit breaker: Locate your washer's dedicated circuit breaker in your electrical panel. Verify it is in the ON position and has not tripped. If tripped, switch it OFF then back ON.
• Allow the washer to reset: Turn off the circuit breaker for 60 seconds, then turn it back ON. This may clear temporary control board errors.
• Verify the door or lid is fully closed: Ensure the washer door or lid closes completely and latches properly. Listen for a clicking sound indicating the latch is engaged.
• Check for standing water: Open the door/lid and inspect if water remains in the tub. If water is present, the drain system may need attention before attempting another cycle.
• Inspect the power cord: Ensure the washer's power cord is fully inserted into the wall outlet and the outlet is functioning properly. Test the outlet with another appliance if possible.
• Review recent power issues: Check if you experienced a recent power outage or electrical storm. These can cause control board errors that require a reset.
• Attempt a manual reset: Unplug the washer from the wall outlet for 60 seconds, then plug it back in. This may reset the control board without using the breaker.
• Clear any error messages: Once power is restored, check if the error code clears from the display.
• Test with a simple cycle: If the error clears, attempt running a short wash cycle without clothes to verify normal operation before resuming regular use.
